2022 Intermediate Buddhist Studies Group

with Ethan Nichtern

Graduates of the Yearlong Online Buddhist Studies and others with significant practice and study experience are invited to join, or rejoin, the Intermediate Online Buddhist Studies Group starting January 2022. Starting January 29th, Ethan will meet with students the last Saturday of every month for a lecture and group discussion on the month’s assigned reading. The study curriculum of this course never repeats itself year to year. Whereas last year was focused on a deep dive into meditative philosophy, 2022 will focus on Buddhist ethics, socially-engaged Buddhism, and topics of applied Buddhism. We will read Lama Rod Owens, Thich Nhat Hanh’s “Good Citizens,” David Loy, Joanna Macy, and more.

• Starting Saturday, January 29th, 2022 2-4pm ET online via Zoom

• Main sangha meets every four weeks at 2-4pm ET online via Zoom. Dates: Jan 29, Feb 26, Mar 26, Apr 23, May 21, June 18, July 16, Aug 20, Sep 17, Oct 15, Nov 12, Dec 10.

• Sessions will be recorded and posted for later audio and video access via Dropbox and Youtube private link.

• Students will be able to join “quads” and support each other’s meditation practice throughout the month.

• Registration is only open for full-year enrollment
