Lots of people are having a really hard time right now. We have the usual seasonal affective disorder, on top of the worst global pandemic in over 100 years, on top of the dangerously flailing last days of a Wannabe dictatorship, on top of a holiday season where we can’t see loved ones, on top of all of the other personal and systemic struggles a human being might face.

At the same time, there is a reason to be cautiously optimistic about next year.

“Each moment is exactly one moment big” is the simplest premise of mindfulness - if it sucks, it only sucks in the present. Support your heart, and guard against the mind’s tendency to perceive difficulty as permanent. Right now is not always.
